Das Ist Techno Sex Beer Review - Deutschland Disco
One of the most unique beer’s on the market has got to be Up Front Brewing's, ‘Das Ist Techno Sex’. The name itself is eye-catching, however the packaging also has an element of mystery. Coming in a simple holographic tin with only the beers name printed on top. The strange name and simple packing of the beer is definitely one of a kind and is bound to draw your eye on the shelf. The best way to describe the can is simple yet odd, certainly one of a kind.
Despite the name translating from German to, ‘this is techno sex’ in English, the beer’s owners Up Front Brewing is surprisingly based in Glasgow, Scotland. The company started in 2015, aiming to share their love with exceptionally unique and delicious beer with fellow beer lovers. The owners take pride in being ‘up front’ and hardworking, not asking for any Kickstarter donations or loans, doing everything themselves. The Up Front Brewing team borrow space at other breweries to create their beers, not having their own brewery yet. The owner Jake Griffin expresses a specific interest in the creative side of craft brewing saying to the Glasgowist, ‘For me, the best thing about the craft beer scene is the creative people that it attracts. We all know that beer brings people together, but craft beer seems to attract a different kind of drinker, people who seem to be a bit more open to new ideas and who are prepared to try new things. I also love that the craft brewing scene, the people behind the movement, are a close knit, vibrant and incredibly creative community, where everyone lends a hand to help each other out.’
The beer has a strong sour taste that is as distinct as the beers design. With elements of passionfruit, lime and tropical fruits, the beer definitely has a sour flavour similar to some of Vault City Brewing’s beers like their Cloudy Lemonade. Despite its strong taste, Das Ist Techo Sex is only 5.4% and pours a bright yellowy gold colour. The fruity flavours make this beverage perfect for a hot summers day and is definitely one for lovers of something a bit different.
Overall, Up Front Brewing have proved they certainly have something unique to offer with eye catching and flavourful beers, perfect for a hot summers day.
